ERRATUM - MENTAL HEALTH ACT (2021 REVISION) (E 4 of 2021)

.

NOTICE OF ERRATUM

The Mental Health Act (2021 Revision) was published as Supplement No. 1 with Legislation Gazette No. 14 dated 12th February,

An error appears in section 7(2) where ‘medical officer’ was inadvertently included instead of ‘medical doctor’. The correct wording should be as follows:

(2) The medical doctor referred to in subsection (1) shall examine that person, and if the medical doctor considers that the person should be further detained the medical doctor shall, within twelve hours of receiving the patient, make an emergency detention order under section 6 after consultation with a medical officer.

Subscribers are requested to amend their copies of the Mental Health Act (2021 Revision) accordingly.
