Regulation 1

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 22G of the Traffic Act (2023 Revision), the Cabinet makes the following Regulations — Citation These Regulations may be cited as the Traffic (Electronic Vehicle Registration) Regulations, 2025. Prescription of type of electronic tag The IDeSTIX® - High Security Holographic Windshield Label with RFID Technology - Dimensions 100 x 50 mm. is prescribed as the type of electronic tag that shall be affixed to a vehicle. Prescription of type of camera The Cabinet may, by Notice published in the Gazette, approve a camera for use of a prescribed electronic reading device.

Regulation 4

Prescription of type of electronic reading device The following devices are each prescribed as a type of device that is capable of reading an electronic tag — (a) KATHREIN RRU4 RFID UHF Reader System (RRU4-ETG-E6); and (b) KOAMTAC KDC470Ci SmartSled with Smartphone (Samsung Galaxy J8).
